Lay the glass plates out on a flat surface - the base should be in the middle and the front, back and sides of the tank placed at the appropriate edges of the base.

    • 3). Apply a 3mm wide line of silicone sealant 2mm away from the edge to where the front panel will sit on the base glass.

    • 4). Place the front panel of glass onto the fresh silicone and press down firmly - the silicone will spill out from underneath the glass; do not wipe it away, just leave it to cure, you can remove any excess sealant later. Apply duct tape to the outside join to add extra stability.

    • 5). Apply 3mm wide line of silicone sealant to the right side of the base glass, 2mm for the edge - this is where the right side of the tank will be placed.

    • 6). Apply 3mm wide line of silicone 2mm from the edge to the front panel you placed earlier. Start at bottom and work your way in a straight line to the top before you place the side panel in.

    • 7). Place the side panel of glass onto the base glass, making sure you line it up with the silicone that's on both the front panel and the base. Repeat process for the remaining two sides of the tank. Apply duct tape to the joins on the outside of the tank to secure the panels along the joins.

    • 8). Apply a line of sealant on the inside of the tank to all the joins.

    • 9). Leave the tank overnight to allow the sealant to set properly. Cut away the excess silicone sealant. Fill the tank slowly with water, repeatedly checking the the corners and base for leaks.
