For many men with either adult- or early-onset hypogonadism, low sex drive, low energy or both are important and relevant symptoms. The extent to which they experience improvements in these symptoms potentially drives their perception of treatment benefit. The SAID and HED have been developed according to regulatory guidelines, but the value of the two PRO instruments as tools to evaluate treatment for hypogonadism and, potentially, clinical practice will need to be confirmed in quantitative analyses that test their reliability, validity and responsiveness to hypogonadism treatment.
