This seems to be the newest question being asked by the almost 10 million people who suffer from day to day from the chronic disabling disease that you can't see, test, or prove, unless you mean the 11 out of 18 tender points that only 20% of all people with chronic widespread pain had.
The NIAMS defines Fibromyalgia as, a disorder that causes muscle pain and fatigue (feeling tired).
People with fibromyalgia have tender points"on the body.
Tender points are specific places on the neck, shoulders, back, hips, arms, and legs.
These points hurt when pressure is put on them.
Ah, if this were all Fibromyalgia consisted of, but that's another article! Fibromyalgia is something different for every person who has it.
That may be the reason the medical community has a hard time pinpointing it as a real disease and believing the people who suffer and are called,chronic complainers.
People who live with Fibromyalgia are often told to work out because the body needs strengthened, it will help you rest and cause the natural pain killers in your body to be released.
Trying to work out and do cardio when you can't walk across the room or lifting weights and hurting for days later when you are in tears from the pain half the time anyway does not appear to be a viable option to those of us already suffering.
Fibromyalgia causes cravings for sugar and starch.
The craving is so strong it is irresistible.
Then you end up not eating much but you gain alarming amounts of weight.
So, does diet affect Fibromyalgia? Yes, diet very much affects fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgics have to eat in a very specific way.
While it is not a hard way, it is a way that needs to be learned.
It is a more wholesome clean diet that you actually start to enjoy.
The days of incredible pain start getting a little easier until one day you realize, YES, diet does affect Fibromyalgia and I can claim my life back!
