Pants Hangers - What to Look For
Wrong.
There are certain qualities that set one type of pants hangers apart from the rest.
It might seem silly but it can really make a difference in how you store your trousers.
Most pants hangers follow the same basic design.
A simple hanger with some sort of clip attachment at the bottom to hold the pants in place.
Despite the similarities, there are many differences that affect not only your pants, but also your wallet, your time, and sometimes your patience.
First of all you need to take note of the material out of which the hanger is crafted.
Try to stay away from the flimsy clear plastic type.
These hangers are generally designed to be cheap for use in department stores where quantity far outweighs quality.
You definitely do not want to use those on your own pants at home.
High quality pants hangers are generally made out of wood.
Old fashioned, yes - but the difference is visible.
If you like to store your pants strait to avoid mid-leg wrinkles, This is the path to take.
They will do their job well and because they are not made out of cheap plastic, will last for years and years to come.
Also be sure to take note of the material out of which the clip is made.
Going back to the department store example, cheap hangers will have a plastic sliding clip that makes it very difficult to fasten the article of clothing to the pants hangers.
Avoid these at all costs.
They do not secure the pant well and are very time consuming.
Other cheap metal clips will have sharp "teeth" that often rip and wear out the belt line of your clothes.
Be on the look out for something that will be gentle, yet sufficient enough to hold your pants tight.
In the end, it all comes down to how much your value your clothing.
For this reason, the avid clothing shopper or suit collector will just as soon spend $10 per hanger because of the difference in quality.
A little much, I know - but it will pay for itself in the long run with its many uses over the years and avoidance of clothing damage.
