- 1). Open Internet Explorer 8.
- 2). Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options." A pop-up box will appear.
- 3). Click on the "Security" tab, then put a check mark in the "Enable Protected Mode" box.
- 4). Click on the "Custom Level" button. Another pop-up box will appear.
- 5). Scroll down to the "Download" section. Under the "File Download" subsection, click "Disable."
- 6). Click "OK" twice to save the changes. Restart Internet Explorer to make the changes take effect.
