    • 1). Click "Start," then click "Run" and type "command" into the box that appears.

    • 2). Type "notepad" into the pop-up window. Copy this registry fix and paste it into Notepad:

    • 3). Save the file as exefix.reg to your desktop. Set the "File Type" as "All Files."

    • 4). Navigate to your desktop and double-click the exefix.reg icon. Click "Yes" when a pop-up dialog box appears, asking if you want to add the information to the registry.

    • 5). Download and install a spyware-removal program such as Spyware Doctor, STOPzilla or MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware (see Resources).

    • 6). Open the spyware-removal program and run a full computer scan. When the scan is finished, a list of any viruses and trojans, including Vista Anti Virus 2010, will appear. Delete these files, and your computer will be rid of Vista Anti Virus 2010.
