Since 15 October 2007, the applicants who are of 18 years and above are required to sign a Values Statement while applying for certain categories of visas. The statement mentions that the applicants will show their respect to the Australian life style and will obey all the laws of the country before being issued a visa.
The Values Statement of Australia is included in the application form for almost all the visa applicants. There are usually two different types of values statements.
People, who are presently staying outside Australia and applying for a Humanitarian visa, have to sign the values statement at the time of their interview. This process identifies the difficulties encountered by the applicants of Humanitarian visa outside the country.
