Planning Your Trip To New York City
The first thing you notice when visiting NYC is its immensity, and you think to yourself, "I better plan my time here or I'll waste it." So planning to have a good trip is essential.
Now you could go the typical tourist route and go the hotel restaurant or visit restaurants within walking distance of your hotel, but that really is a waste.
If I were to plan a day for you, I'd have you start by having breakfast at Sarabeth's Kitchen up on Madison Ave and 92nd st. In fact if you haven't chosen a hotel try the Wales Hotel on the same street(check our website for rates) It's high style, and very chic in a beautiful part of town, Carnegie Hill.
If you are visiting in the spring, or summer, or even fall from Sarabeths walk straight up to Central Park and either walk in the park or along fifth avenue till you get to the Plaza Hotel, where you can start your spending spree. If you walk through the park instead stop by the boat pond. It's quite a sight on a Saturday. The model boat hobbyists will be out in force, sailing their model boats for everyone to see. The children will be climbing on the Alice in Wonderland statue located there as well. It is magical! If you are a runner be a New Yorker for a day and run the 2 1/2 mile reservoir like Dustin Hoffman did in the movie Marathon Man. Once you get down to the Plaza get your credit card out and visit Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Ave, Bergdorf Goodmans and Tiffany.
Now it's time for lunch. You've already spent a ton of money, so lets think about a low cost meal. New York is famous for its Hot Dogs. My favorite place for hot dogs is a little known place (except by New Yorkers) called Papaya King. If you ask for a home run you'll a hot dog on a toasted bun with mustard, onions, and sauerkraut. The hot dogs are better than filet mignon. There are two locations, one on the corner of 86st and 3 rd ave, and the other on 72nd st and Broadway. Check on our other article on where to have lunch if you are not into hot dogs. Remember to visit our website for great rates on airfare and hotel accomodations http://www.FindHotelCenter.com
