How to Decorate a Basement as a Girl's Bedroom
- 1). Evaluate the space for natural light, and enhance with track or recessed lighting, if needed.
- 2). Decide on a theme or color scheme for the space and select colors accordingly. Paint the walls or hang wallpaper. Use dark colors sparingly, perhaps on an accent wall for a bit of interest. Make one portion of a wall a chalkboard or magnetic for younger girls.
- 3). Make a layout of furniture arranged into zones, including ones for sleeping, studying, relaxing or playing for young girls. Incorporate bookcases or wall shelving to store books, toys and decorative items.
- 4). Adorn the bed with a comforter or quilt that coordinates with the theme and color selection.
- 5). Add accent pieces such as area rugs, lamps and photos. Hang posters on the wall for preteen to teenage girls.
