How to Insulate a Waterbed
- 1). Put a waterbed mattress pad on the mattress and keep it there at all times. They are made to fit the unique shape of a waterbed and designed to keep heat in and regulate mattress temperature.
- 2). Make your bed every morning. Leaving the sheets exposed also allows more heat to escape from the waterbed mattress. Keeping your comforter pulled up to the top of the bed will help insulate the mattress.
- 3). Add extra blankets to the top of the bed during the day.
- 4). Install a heater with a thermostat and timer so you can regulate the temperature of the bed during the day as well as at night. A broken thermostat may cause the temperature of the mattress to fluctuate, which could cause the bed to feel warmer or colder than desired.
