Bounce Back To Wellness - Do You Think Like A Healthy Person?
If you are on a quest to bounce back to wellness, from a period of illness, injury, addiction etc one very important thing you can do is notice how you are thinking has changed.
An extended period of feeling below par will cause you to start to think like a sick person, or a crippled person or even a victim.
Cast your mind back before that time and see if you can remember how you used to think.
Have your predominant thoughts changed? Have you slipped into negative or limited thinking? If you have physical limitations now, is your thinking taking you forward or is fear based and holing you back.
Ask yourself if your thinking is more limited than your body! I once meet a man who had lost both legs in a train accident.
As an adult he raced cars, got a black belt in Tae Kwon do-a kicking art- fly's light aircraft and climbed Mt Kilimanjaro.
He may be an over achiever but do you think his thinking is that of a person with a serious disability or thinking like someone who is grasping life with both hands.
Think about some people you know whose thinking you would like to model and use their lead to influence your thinking.
How do these people solve problems? How do they overcome their difficulties? When you greet these people, when asked how they are do they tell you all their problems, do they say; not bad, or do they say; great, or fantastic even if they aren't feeling that way.
How we present ourselves to the world largely dictates how the world responds to us.
Do you offer a friendly smile and an upbeat tone of voice? Do you energize people with your presence or drain them! My challenge to you is to start to think like a well person, even if you are still struggling.
You may be presently surprised by the results.
