- 1). Download and install AVG Anti-virus with spyware removal free (see Resources below).
- 2). Launch your program after it has installed and click the "Component" button on the top menu. Scroll down and click "Anti-spyware." This will show you whether your program needs to be updated.
- 3). Click the "Update" button on the left. The program will search for any new virus and spyware definitions. Once they are located, they will be automatically installed.
- 4). Click "Tools" and click "Scan Computer." The program will begin scanning for viruses and spyware. When the scan is complete, click "Warnings." Place a check on all the detected viruses and spyware and click "Delete." All the viruses and spyware will be removed. Close your program. It will stay on the task bar, where it will continue to monitor spyware.
- 5). Launch your Web browser.
