What We Need - Gun Violence Research

For a long time the NRA has blocked research into gun violence by getting the United States government not to give any funding to any projects related to gun violence.
Now is the time for that to end.
I am personally interested in researches on gun use and how it affects the brain.
Does it cause any chemical reactions, does it have any affect on brain hormone levels.
What parts of the brain react to Gun Use.
Is there a euphoric response in the brain similar to sex addiction, gambling addiction, or a drug addiction.
It would be interesting to see if there is a addiction to the firing of a gun.
To me that would explain the almost fanatical extremes some who use guns have.
They say that a gun is their children and treat it with more love than a gun deserves.
Some say they will start a civil war if their gun is taken away.
That seams a little extreme to me.
Another research project would be to see how watching a movie or playing a video games filled with violence contributes to violence.
I would really like to get evidence either pro or con on that idea.
Me personally do not believe the statement that watching games or playing games contribute to violence in any big way.
One final research effects the victims of the witnesses of gun violence.
How are the children of Sandy Hook dealing with it.
How are the ones who have been injured doing.
This would have to be a long time study over many years following someone who has been a victim of gun violence to see all aspects of their life and if any have been effected.
How they relate to others? Have they gotten any phobias or fears from the incident? Has it hurt their emotion do they become angry more? Do they become depressed more? Now with the Government thinking about funding research into gun violence we may find out things we never thought about when it comes to gun violence.
We may dispel many myths that will help us in understanding on how to limit future gun violence.
The NRA is still trying to stop research.
Why I think they fear what might be found out.
What can you do to make Gun Research a reality? Send Emails to your Senators, Congressmen, and even to the President let them know you think research into gun violence would be a good thing.
You have a voice use it the First amendment is still there
