Noida Travel
Noida is a suburban satellite town of New Delhi, located on its southeastern perimeter. Though Noida falls in the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP), it is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR) and therefore enjoys the patronage of the Union Government of India and to an extent the Delhi State Government as well. Noida is the acronym for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority and is now the commonly used name for the suburb intentionally planned as the indusrtial hub for New Delhi. Noida has since developed into a city of its own with booming residential and commercial areas as well. The advantage that Noida holds over most cities in India is in the fact that it is a highly planned city. Its own suburb, Greater Noida is perhaps the best planned township in India and will host the upcoming international airport of India. Greater Noida is also touted to host Formula One Grand Prix races from 2011. Noida is also the face of development of Uttar Pradesh. Noida is the biggest contributor to the UP State Exchequere. The city is often compared to the other fancier suburb of Delhi, Gurgaon. Though Gurgaon has received more investment in services and has thus erected fancier buildings and malls, infratsructure of Noida is better.
Sector 18 of Noida is its entertainment hub with traditional marketplace, Atta facing off with recently erected Center Stage Mall and the Great India Place. An amusement park called Entertainment City is also in the vicinity. Sector 18 has some excellent eating joints offering authentic Indian food, great kababs and other world cuisine. Residence wise, Sector 15A and Sector 44 are considered premium. All sectors of Noida has seen a phenominal rise in real estate prices over the last decade. High rises are not easily visible. There are three golf courses in Noida-Greater Noida belt with two having gated residence comminity dwelling alongside.
An independent road is being constructed from Noida to Agra, along the Yamuna River named the Taj Corridor. This will allow UP residents and those who will land in the proposed airport at Greater Noida to travel to Noida without having to go through the dense traffic of Delhi and Faridabad.
Noida is a cosmopolitan city with a fairly large immigrant population. All cuisines are available. There many malls, Multiplexes and a decent nightlife. The city has also witnessed immigration from Delhi and its culture is more akin to Delhi than its cousin, Ghaziabad.
As far as lodging is concerned, there are some excellent hotels in Noida. The Radisson Hotel has more than 100 well appointed rooms including a Presidential Suite. Other plush hotels include the Hotel Mosaic, a boutique hotel located only thirty minutes away from the Delhi Airport. Savoy Suites is another great option offering more than forty luxury service apartments in Sector 16. The Sunrise Guest house and Hotel Rama are other great options to choose from if you want some budget accommodations.
