Some may use sand filter where the sand can be replaced or it may require backwashing.
I do go into more detail on how to do this in my newsletter.
While considering the balance of chemicals three factors such as alkalinity, pH value and calcium hardness play a major role.
Calcium hardness is measured using a water testing kit and it should be maintained about 200 to 400 parts per million (ppm).
The alkalinity should either be around 150 to 180 ppm.
For better results, try to maintain the alkalinity as low as possible.
Add sodium bi sulphate to decrease the pH value of water and to raise it add soda ash so that the pH value between 7.
