How to Make My 250cc Scooter Run Fast
- 1). Take the kickstart off the outside of the case that houses the CVT. The CVT case is on the left side of the scooter. The kickstart connects to the case via a bolt-headed pin that you need to loosen first with a socket wrench.
- 2). Open up the CVT case. The lid of the case is secured with six bolts, all removable with a socket wrench.
- 3). Disengage the front gear wheel from the CVT. The wheel is secured in the CVT by a single bolt threaded through its middle. You need an impact wrench to remove this bolt.
- 4). Pull the front gear wheel out of the CVT. Behind the wheel is a spacing washer and a small mechanical piece that connects the kickstart to the CVT. These pieces will likely fall out of the CVT once the front wheel has been pulled off.
- 5). Identify the small washer at the base of rod to which the front gear wheel was bolted. Remove this washer to derestrict the speed of a 250 cc scooter.
- 6). Put the CVT back together again and attach the kickstart to the outside.
