Metal artwork is among the distinguished categories of artistic work.
It includes work on metals such as copper, silver and alloys such as bronze, white metal, bell metal and many others.
These metals are used to make various items such as pans, utensils, photo frames, sculptures of holy personalities, doorknobs, valves, key chains and many others.
Works of art done using brass are also famous.
Various types of household items such as trays, bowls, and crockery are made using this metal.
Electroplating, which is also included in metal artwork, can be used to decorate these items.
This can be done using the white metals together with silver and bronze.
There are various ways of creating metal artwork.
One of them is pouring metals in molds and soldering them together.
The other way is the lost wax process.
In this process, a wax model of the desired monument is prepared.
This monument is then covered with clay and holes created.
Melted metal is then poured into these holes.
This will then melt the wax and the hollow filled with hot metal.
When the metal finally cools, the clay is removed and the final product polished.
Enameling, engraving and damasking are done by craftsmen to beautify the crafts they make from this kind of material.
Engraving and lacquering of brass are an important step in this kind of art.
Various designs which include natural scenes and native patterns can be printed on the surface of various items.
These may be photo frames, boxes, plates, bowls and many others.
