Bikes in India : The best reasonable form of mechanical transport in several parts of the world is Motorcycles or Bikes. Japanese Companies with joint venture in India are dominating the Worlds motorcycle market few of manufacturers named as Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki.
From last Five Decades, the bikes constructors are ruling the Indian Automotive Segment. Even the India Government is also demanding best performance bikes since 1955 for Army and Police. Total share of two-wheeler in Indias Auto Market is around 75% and generating handsome revenue as well.
Commuter segment covers 100cc bikes where as performance segment covers 150cc. 125cc is the combination of both Commuter and performance segment. Worlds finest Automobile Constructor catalog topmost position is holding by Indian bikes. 3/4th part of the total production of Indian Bikes are exporting to South East Asia.

According to the records, there are about 200million motorcycles are in use worldwide or we can say that around 33 motorcycles per 1000 people. Now days, Motorcycles in India are increasing their demand due to the heavy traffic jams on Indian roads on daily basis.
Vehicle emission control standard are following for motorcycles and cars are European emission standards. These standards are all most similar in case of cars and motorcycles, where as cars need to meet Euro V Standards and best bikes need to meet Euro III standards. Even in motorcycles emissions controls are in process of increasing and cars total pollution is almost similar as motorcycle. European Emission Standard IV and European Emission Standard V would be launching in the market in the years 2012 and 2015.
Across all over the world Indian bikes are ahead of reputation. In Automobile Industry, contribution of bikes in India is around 81% or 3/4th part of share for Countrys National growth rate. SAARC countries and East Asian are the main importers of Indian bikes.
The engine capacity of bikes are defined in cc unit, must be having 4-stroke engine with fuel efficiency with increases the bikes segment. Bikes are categorized in 3 parts namely: Off-Road(Dirt Bikes or motocross which are mainly used for adventure purposes), Street(cruisers, sports bikes, scooters and mopeds, and many other types which are mainly used for city road with latest and luxurious features) and Dual Purpose (combination of both Off-Road bikes and Street Bikes which serves both purposes to some extent).
