Cross-stitch history
Cross-stitch has three kinds of origin claims:
1.Cross-stitch originated in the Tang Dynasty in China, spread to the West because the process is easy, the Chinese cross-stitch spread to Europe through Turkey in the 14 century, <History of Science and Technology>

2. In the 10 century to the thirteenth century, European brought Cross-stitch to east Europe as the victory of the religious war, to the sixteenth century Cross-stitch began to spread in the British. This embroidery was very popular in the royal court, to become a great choice for recreation and leisure.
In the Renaissance, Cross-stitch spread throughout Europe, the embroidery stitch became the basic course among women. (this "religious war" means and the establishment of the Turkish war, the same statement 1.2)

3.As early as the 4th century AD, Cross-stitch from Turkey by Italy in the European spread. The first stitch is taken out from the cocoon after the … … brought to China in the Tang Dynasty … … "argument.
The third argument of error is without refutation:
First, there is no Turkey in fourth century , Turkey established in the 14 century, the kingdom. In the fourth century, it should be called Roman.

Whatever, Cross-stitch is one of the oldest forms of embroidery and can be found all over the world.Many folk museums show examples of clothing decorated with cross-stitch, especially from continental Europe and Asia.

Two-dimensional (unshaded) cross-stitch in floral and geometric patterns, usually worked in black and White cotton floss on linen, is characteristic of folk embroidery in Eastern and Central Europe.
