Lidocaine injection is available from multiple manufacturers in 5 mg/mL (0.5%), 10 mg/mL (1%), 15 mg/mL (1.5%), and 20 mg/mL (2%) concentrations. Both single dose and multiple-dose products are available. Multiple-dose vials may contain a preservative. The 10 mg/mL and 20 mg/mL single-dose vials are typically used to prepare lidocaine infusions. Transdermal 5% lidocaine patches are available as the original product (Lidoderm®) and as a generic product in boxes of 30 patches. Each 10 cm x 14 cm patch contains 700 mg lidocaine in an aqueous base.
