The successor to the exceptionally popular K800i, Sony Ericsson's K810i is a sleek, stylish, camera-focused handset with 3G capabilities.
For all its included features, the phone weighs a respectable 115 grams and measures 106mm x 48mm x 17mm.
The front side of this candy-bar phone is dominated by a large 262K colour screen, which offers excellent colour brightness and image clarity.
A central five-way toggle button is used to navigate through the menus, with a downwards press confirming the selected action.
There isn't a great amount of space around the toggle, making it a little awkward for first-time users.
The keys of the numeric pad are slightly raised, small and are separated by deep channels, which makes them difficult to reach.
The design of the K810i is specially tailored to mobile phone users who value the camera function of their phone.
With its high resolution images, the K810i's built-in CyberShot 3.
2 megapixel camera puts many stand-alone digital cameras to shame.
The camera boasts digital zoom, xenon flash, red eye reduction and auto-focus features, as well as image stabilisation and anti-blur technology.
Sony's BestPic feature enables the user to take nine photos within a second, and delete all but the best image.
You can also use the phone to take videos.
Sony has ensured that the K810i caters for music lovers as well as photographers.
The media player is compatible with all popular music formats, and users can download their favourite tracks to the handset.
Similar to many of the phones in Sony's Walkman range, the K810i also includes proprietary software features such as PlayNow, the melody-composing MusicDJ and TrackID, which is invaluable when you just cannot remember the name of the tune stuck in your head.
The phone also features an FM radio complete with RDS, meaning you can view text information provided by the radio station as you listen to the music.
A 3G phone, the K810i allows users to access broadband internet and engage in videoconferencing.
The included internet browser has not been updated since the previous model and remains a little inferior to other phones in its class.
Nevertheless, the phone provides data transfers up to 384kb per second, and the BlueTooth wireless technology means you can connect to other compatible devices within a range of ten metres.
With flight mode and an RSS feeder, you can stay in touch whilst in the air and out of the office.
The Sony Ericsson K810i has 64MB of inbuilt memory, plus a micro (M2) memory stick.
Talk time is a respectable ten hours, with 400 hours of standby time possible.
Those who have been happy with their K800i, are unlikely to notice significant differences between the older and newer models and may not wish to upgrade to the K810i.
For all other users, the K810i is another great phone offering from Sony Ericsson that is ideal for those customers looking for a well-designed, dependable 3G phone with all the creature comforts.
