Retire Early As a Self Funded Rat Race Escapee! 23 of 24 Articles in This Series
There is one thing that does not seem to be easily available online, that is; What are the metrics used to calculate a business plan which will cater to the end income targets.
This is what I have discovered thus far, from reading about some of the top internet marketing gurus in the field of selling information products to people who want to learn how to create an online business.
It seems they all started off on the back foot, somewhere along the line.
They had no idea either! They persisted and were very disciplined in their approach to creating their first online incomes.
The internet was in it's infancy then and there were no business models to follow, no marketing models to emulate.
They were true pioneers.
They blazed a trail for us latecomers to easily find our way online.
That could only eventuate if their new ways were sustainable and ethical.
After a decade of experimentation, there are now a few good plans available with models that do work.
Some perform better than others, but they will almost all work eventually, as long as they are persisted with.
I am not talking about MLM or Network Marketing here, as they are in a different field of expertise than the area I'm discussing.
How many sales do you need to make say...
$100,000? Well, first off, How much is your product? As business costs online are virtually next to nothing starting out, I'll say a total of around around 10% for business costs, leaving you with 90% profit.
Next, is what type of price range is your product in? Are you able to communicate with your market on that level? Say you figured you wanted $100,000 and you decided that 100 products sold at $1,000 each would achieve your desired results.
These are now the Questions you will be faced with;
- Can you service your customers with a product on that price level?
- What type of value are you going to be giving them?
- What problems do your customers have that they would pay you $1,000 to receive a solution for?
- Can they get a better solution elsewhere?
- If so, what is your competition doing that you are not doing?
One of my favorite gurus has a monthly membership where his customers pay him $2, 750 a month to belong! There are many online businesses charging $10,000 a day for consulting, some have other gurus on retainers of $100,000 a year, just so they can call them up when needed.
The figures up that end are heady, but are being paid by happy customers.
Our goal is to create happy customers who want to give us their money in exchange for our expertise.
Golden Nugget take away for Article 23 in a 24 Article Series;
- Research the metrics available to create your online business plan and implement it.
- Charging higher prices means you must give higher value and it also can mean less sales to meet an income target.
- You must provide the relevant value, no matter what prices you charge.
