Are you suffering badly from a lack of sleep? This may sound a simple question but often people can have their home life and their work badly affected by a lack of sleep without realising what is causing these symptoms.
Sleep is a very necessary element of your mind being able to function properly.
If you are having trouble falling asleep and are not getting enough sleep, it can cause you to have not to just be sleepy, but it can cause emotional and learning problems as well.

The first step is obviously to sleep for longer than you currently as the average you should aim for is six to eight hours of sleep per night.

  4. Being irritable or always feeling on edge
  5. Not wanting anything to eat one minute and then feeling very hungry a short while later.
  6. Always feeling stressed
  7. Frequently feeling unwell.

The chances are that if you are experiencing any of the above, then you are suffering from a lack of sleep and you should immediately contact your doctor.
It may help if your Doctor if you note down how often you sleep and anything that is on your mind that maybe causing your insomnia.
This will help your Doctor establish the best course of treatment.
Many people lacking sleep may feel drowsy during the day and combat this by drink lots of coffee so that the caffeine wakes them up, but by doing this, you can actually making your condition far worse.
If you are suffering from lack of sleep the worse thing that you can do is take stimulants to keep awake.
You ideally need to establish a sleep routine, and avoid caffeine for at least two hours prior to going to bed.
Lack of sleep over a short period will not affect your health too much, however a continued lack of sleep can severely affect you both physically and mentally.
