    • The Associate of Science degree in Nursing (ADN) at the Community College of Allegheny County prepares students to write the National Council Licensure Examination to become a registered nurse. The program is offered on both a full-time and part-time basis and may be completed in as little as two years. The combination of coursework, laboratory work and clinical placements provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics and other health care venues. Courses in the program include health promotion and illness prevention, human growth and development and populations in crisis. The nursing program has limited enrollment each year so prospective students should provide a competitive high school grade point average and must write a preadmission examination.
