Business Web Design

Good business web design is essential for any web site to be as effective as possible.
A recent Harvard study shows that you have less than 3 seconds to capture your site visitors' interest.
How well is your site capturing the interest and time of your end users? Just because you may be doing business on the Internet now, does not change the old adage, "the customer always comes first.
" In any good business web design, the customer is the most important aspect of the project! It is so important to know your customer and your audience so that you can create something that is pleasing to them.
Designing a web page to suit your customers will help you achieve online success with increased traffic and online sales.
The elements of good business web design are the building blocks of a web page.
An experienced web designer will understand this and work with you to translate their message into a layout that combines the right mix of graphics, colors, photos, fonts, and the correct spacing.
When good business web design is done right, it results in clearer communications.
Many times, your site visitors will not even think about web design when it's done well.
However, if the design is not done thoughtfully, your visitors will immediately notice and it may drive them away.
Think about this: if a font is too difficult to read, people will not stick around to look at the information you are trying to share with them.
For example, if your target audience is people who are 50+ years of age, it's best to use (12 point or larger) crisp, clear black text on a white or light background.
Many people find that white text on a dark background is difficult to read.
Or, have you ever visited a site that just had entirely too much on one page? Perhaps there were a lot of flashing buttons and stars and so many different colors that it was impossible to know what to read first or where to look.
Chances are, you did not stay on that site for very long.
There might have been some valuable information on that website, but due to poor design, you were not about to waste your precious time trying to figure that out.
You probably searched the Internet until you found a site that had what you were looking for that didn't give you a headache.
You may have some ideas of what you want your web site to look like.
When working with a designer, be sure to let them know what you want and what you don't want prior to the beginning of your project.
This will help speed the project along and keep it within budget.
A good way to do this is to show your designer other web sites, artwork, photos or anything else that will help you explain the look and feel you want for your site.
Remember, good business web design begins and ends with your customers.
Think about their demographics and what they are used to seeing on your competitors' web sites.
Then, work with your web designer to create something that will look better than the competition's and help you achieve your online objectives.
