This year Good Friday falls on 22nd April 2011 with Easter Sunday on the 24th and Easter Monday on the 25th April 2011. At this time of year the weather in the Lake District is actually surprising good, well usually anyway! But the better weather spring weather gives a chance to show off the beautiful gardens of Lindeth Fell Country House Hotel as all of the pretty flowers like daffodils are blooming and the trees are coming to life again. This weather usually allows the perfect opportunity for some outdoor pursuits or for the not so confident a chance to hang onto the last of those cosy, comfortable days indoors.

There are many Country House Hotels Windermere but few with such beautiful gardens and views as Lindeth Fell Country House Hotel. The gardens are incredibly special as they were designed by Thomas Mawson who was born in Scorton, Lancashire on the 5th May 1861. He had a real passion for gardens and after moving to Windermere from London after the death of his father he set up his own business called Lakeland Nurseries with his two brothers. This garden is perfect for Windermere Easter breaks and Easter Egg Hunts. This Hotel Lake Windermere is second to none when it comes to the scenery and location.

Sadly Thomas Mawson died on the 14th November in 1933 but he was buried only a mile away from Lindeth Fell Country House Hotel in Bowness Cemetery. This is close to many of his very best garden designs. His legacy is very special to staff at the Hotel Lake Windermere and if customers are interested in learning more about the subject, then the author Elizabeth Kissack has published a biography of Thomas Mawson in 2006; 'The Life of Thomas Hayton Mawson, Landscape Architect 1861-1933', It is an attractive 100-page paperback book, profusely illustrated, and largely written from a Lake District perspective.

Easter breaks at Lindeth Fell are for a minimum of three nights and the rates are based on a per person per night basis, this includes a full Lakeland breakfast and dinner in the evening. It is based on two people sharing and a single supplement will be applied if necessary. Following the busy Christmas and New Year period the hotel will be closed until the 4th February which is a Friday when the hotel will re open after three bedrooms on the first floor have been completely redecorated, as will have the bathrooms, which will give a new fresh feel to the accommodation.
