Farmington Parks and Recreation Department

• The Farmington Parks and Recreation Department offers various programs for its seniors. In 2010, the activities the Parks and Recreation Department offered included: senior bingo, scrapbooking, trips to the Foxwoods Casino, trips to the Londonderry Flea Market, a Portsmouth Harbor Cruise and a trip to see a Red Sox game.
  
  

Gafney Home in Rochester

• The Gafney Home is located in Rochester, New Hampshire, approximately nine miles from Farmington. Originally a Victorian mansion, the Gafney Home offers its senior residents services such as 24-hour nursing care, private rooms, a beauty salon, physical therapy, emotional support services and ecumenical prayer services. Rochester Manor

• Rochester Manor, also located in Rochester, offers short-term rehab, respite, hospice and long-term care to seniors. Its short-term rehab care focuses on physical, occupational and speech therapy for seniors recently released from the hospital due to an accident or injury. The Manor uses Wii-hab to assist its patients in physical therapy. Respite care gives families caring for seniors the opportunity to have the Manor care for relatives for short periods of time. The Manor's long-term care offers residents a 24-hour care team that include medical professionals, gerontologists, psychologists and members of the clergy.
