Body bag – fright or fashion?
The term of it has been in existence since the WWII. It was originally designed as an impermeable container used to transport and store corpses. Fast forward to 2012, and you find the same two words utilized by the fashion industry to describe a women's style accessory. The same two words can elicit a strong negative reaction from those afraid of death or a strong positive reaction from the fashion conscious crowd who love to shop. The context of the words completely changes the meaning.

Fashion bag designs are continually created to cater to every fashion trend and whimsy and there are literally millions of styles, and most come with handles.

Both cadaver bags and fashion body bags are not designed to be cleaned or re-used.
Permeability
Although some fashion totes are, indeed, watertight, most are not. Cadaver bags are designed to be watertight, for obvious reasons.
Construction materials
Cotton, rubber or plastic are the standard medical body bag materials, while fashion purses are constructed with every conceivable substance.
