    • The Wrangler is Jeep's traditional off-road vehicle that is the post-1986 version of the original Jeep CJ. The 1993 Wrangler was offered in two standard trims--the base model and the S--which had identical mechanical specifications. Two other trim levels-- the Sahara and the Renegade--were more powerful but less common.

    Engine

    • The 1993 Wrangler base and S trims came standard with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder inline engine that produced 123 horsepower and 139 ft.-lb. of torque. The engine had a bore of 3.88 inches, a stroke of 3.19 inches and a compression ratio of 9.2 to 1.

      The Saharas and Renegades sported a 4.0-liter, six-cylinder inline engine that produced 180 horsepower and 220 ft.-lb. of torque.

    Brakes and Suspension

    • All 1993 Wrangler models had disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. They featured beam suspensions in the front and rear, with an anti-roll bar in the front.

    Dimensions

    • The 1993 Wrangler models had a wheelbase length of 93.4 inches and exterior dimensions of 152.6 inches (length), 66 inches (width) and 72 inches (height). The base, S and Renegade trims had a curb weight of 2935 lb., while the Sahara weighed 3080 lb.

    Fuel Economy and Towing Capacity

    • Both the base and the S trims came standard with a 15-gallon fuel tank that had an EPA estimated fuel economy of 16 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. The Sahara and the Renegade had a 20-gallon fuel tank with an EPA estimated fuel economy of 15 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. All had a towing capacity of 2,000 lb.
