Sorority Fundraisers - Most Effective Fundraisers

As if other obligations to your sorority weren't time consuming and stressful enough, fundraising is a necessary part of keeping a sorority up and running.
However, fundraisers don't necessarily have to be boring and tedious.
The following is a list of some great, fun, and easy sorority fundraisers.
Basketball Tournament: This fundraiser is very easy to throw and easy to attract interest.
Have an entry fee for each team that wants to play in the tournament and offer a nice award to the winner of the tournament.
From past experiences, many teams will not enter the tournament unless they feel it is worth their time, energy, and money to enter the tournament.
And the greater the prize, the more interest you will be able to create! Be sure to make the rules clear to each participant before the tournament to prevent any disputes or arguments.
Jello Wrestling: This fundraiser can bring together large crowds of people as both fraternities and sororities can work together to market and throw the event.
Simply get a large enough tub for two people to wrestle in, fill it with jello, and you're all set to go! You can charge people an admittance fee to watch the wrestling matches (be sure to get a large enough venue to accommodate the crowds of people), or you can charge viewers a premium price to partake in the festivities.
Date Auction: You can have a friendly auction fundraiser where you can auction off sorority sisters to go on dates with guys.
Dates could include a dinner and a movie package, a day at an amusement park, or simply a nice picnic at the park.
The key to this type of fundraiser is to market it to as many campus members as possible in order to draw the highest auction price possible.
Breakfast Fundraiser: Hold a pancake breakfast where you can have participants pay a flat fee for an all-you-can-eat breakfast.
Factor in costs of operation before deciding on the price so you can make sure you can cover your costs.
Creativity to the breakfast is key to attracting the most number of participants (chocolate chip pancakes, banana toppings, etc.
