    • 1). Rinse out the carafe with warm water.

    • 2). Pour one cup vinegar into the carafe and swish around to cover the sides of the carafe. Let sit for 10 minutes.

    • 3). Empty the vinegar from the carafe and rinse with hot water.

    • 4). Pour the baking soda into the carafe and scrub the interior with a nylon scrub pad, or a soft, non-abrasive cloth until you reveal a shiny surface. If you can't reach your hand all the way in to scrub, use a long handled small scrub brush--such as a bottle brush--to reach the interior.

    • 5). Rinse out the baking soda and allow to dry.
