The Ford Escape has four doors and a rear lift-gate with flip-up glass. It seats five adults and has a low, step-in height and wide door openings for easy access. The rear seat folds down to increase cargo space.

Look for the 3.0-liter Duratec DOHC V6 engine on XLS, XLT and Limited models, producing 201 horsepower and 196 foot-pounds of torque. The 2004 XLS Value package comes with a 2.0-liter Zetec inline four-cylinder engine with 127 horsepower and 135 foot-pounds of torque. Mileage: (EPA, City/Highway) 4-cylinder, 2WD models: 23/28.
