The Nokia 5230 offers Nokia another opportunity to impress, and it succeeds with this latest offering which was announced in August.
Due for release Quarter 4 of 2009, the phone encompasses a wide array of functionality whilst retaining an air of simplicity, which is difficult in the modern age.
With stylish looks and favourable features the phone is likely to be well received when it makes its appearance on the mobile phone stage.
A 3.
2 inch TFT resistive touch screen is the centre piece of the phone.
Operating at a pixel size of 360 x 640 pixels and with an ability to display 16 million colours the display screen offers imagery that is impressive in every way.
The inclusion of an accelerometer sensor and a proximity sensor offer the ability to automatically rotate images and shut off the unit when not in use.
The addition of handwriting recognition is an added bonus.
The phone will come with a 2.
0 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels.
Should the need arise where editing of the taken image is required, the useful photo editor supplied with the phone will take care of that.
Video recording and playback are provided by the phone and is at VGA quality and 30 frames per second.
With the modern consumer looking at video more frequently, this element is a welcome addition.
The phone incorporates a number of media players which include an MP3/MP4 player and a stereo FM radio with RDS.
The players will play all major audio and video file formats whilst the radio offers radio broadcasts available at the touch of a button.
GPRS, EDGE, HSCSD, HSDPA and Wi-Fi are all available on this handset.
This means the phone has internet access and the ability to connect to hot spots wherever available.
The Blue tooth and microUSB connections ensure the ability to share files with other suitably attired mobile phones and the ability to connect and synchronise files on a PC.
The Nokia 5230 is compact in several ways, much like its counterpart the Nokia 5530, size wise it is 11 mm x 51 mm wide whilst being only 15 mm thick.
The handset weighs in at 115 grams and has plenty of raw processing power supplemented by the Symbian OS v9.
4 operating system.
It will provide a viable phone with many features that appeal.
Its impending release will be welcome.
