Avoid things that you know will distract you like watching TV and phone calls.
Let the answering machine answer calls for you and avoid watching TV. - Write it down.
While doing your task, if you find things that you need to do later on, like repairing or sewing, write them down.
Then do them as soon as you finish your task or find - Make yourself comfortable.

Wear comfortable clothes in doing your task.

Listen to music while doing your task to keep you on mood.
