LED Tape for Sign and Display Lighting

From a sign maker's point-of-view, LED Tape systems are the ideal solution for creating illuminated signs and displays.
Continue reading to find out why.
In the past, most shop front signs and displays were illuminated using cold cathode tubes or neon lighting.
Nowadays, cold cathode and neon are gradually being dropped in favour of LED based lighting systems.
And for good reason! LEDs offer a number of compelling advantages to both installers and businesses.
For starters they are: - easier and safer to use; - more cost effective; - longer lasting; - available in a wide range of colours.
Unlike older forms of lighting, LEDs have no moving parts or trapped gasses.
That means you don't need to worry about accidentally breaking or damaging your lights during installation.
Most LED lighting is also modular, making for very simple scalability.
Take LED Tape for example.
This can be cut to length, shortened or lengthened where necessary, allowing for a clean and neat appearance.
When it comes to fitting, LED Tape triumphs once again.
The 3m self adhesive on LED Tape makes for very fast, simple installation and, even where the 3m is not available, it is just a case of using your own glue or screw on fittings.
This will significantly reduce the time it takes to complete your sign or display project.
LED Tape isn't just easy to use; it is also inherently safer than other lighting options.
The tape itself operates at a non lethal 12 volts, making it incredibly safe.
The absence of glass tubes and moving parts also eliminates the chance of injury during installation.
Heat build-up is a problem with most other types of lighting.
But not with LED Tape.
LEDs efficiently convert electricity into light without creating heat as a by-product.
This means you can reduce the size and depth of your projects without worrying about the implications of overheating.
Efficiency is also another concern, particularly for anyone creating signs and displays on a commercial basis.
LED Tape uses a tiny amount of power, but still have an impressive light output.
With LED Light it is actually possible to create a large illuminated fascia that uses less than a single 30 watt light bulb! Signs that use LED technology are durable and virtually maintenance free.
The life expectancy on older lighting formats is typically measured in hours.
LEDs are measured in years.
Therefore, do not be surprised if your led illuminated sign or display lasts for more than a decade.
From a practical stand point, this also means fewer call outs to repair or service the signs.
Finally, tape is available in a huge range of colours.
Colour changing LED Tape will even allow for the colour of the sign, or individual letter, to be changed.
One more point! this Tape can be supplied with an IP rated coating, up to IP68, making them incredibly resilient in outdoor conditions.
