Healing Our Self-Image
Self-esteem, self-confidence, self-worth and self-image are what make up our character we project to the world, or in our immediate thought, how others perceive us.
We all want to project the best Self Image to our piers, but how do we accomplish this? At times it may seem to be a daunting task? Your self-image comes from the self-confidence of knowing who you are inside, giving us the feeling of self-esteem.
Imagine confidence of self-worth, becoming unaffected to the pressures of what others think about you.
How relaxing and composed would your world be! A place where judgment is non-existent.
As you can see self-image is really a compilation of many feelings, which we negatively visualize to be true.
Let's reverse these negative inner false statements to positive feelings that can empower you to succeed in all that you do and learn how to reap the rewards of satisfaction and lifestyle fulfillment.
This exercise is very easy and revealing to do: 1)Take four 8"x 11" piece of paper 2)Draw a line down the middle of each paper 3)Across the top of each, write "Self-Image" 4)Under self-image write, "Dress", "Talk", "Act", "Think" 5)On the left side write "Positive" 6)On the right side write "Negative" 7)Now write down as many thoughts as you can Take one paper a day and find a quite spot where no one can distract you and concentrate on what you wrote and ask yourself is this really true or is it just what you perceive to be true.
In other words most of the negative perception you have is false.
Slowly eliminate your negative thoughts until you only have 2 or 3 left.
Do this with all four papers and then take a paper a week and make a plan to overcome these areas with realistic goals to accomplish each area you choose to create a Self-Image you are happy with.
Done in small manageable sections this way will become easier than looking at challenging the big picture.
