How to Remove a Red Ink Stain
- 1). Pour isopropyl alcohol onto a clean white cloth. Use enough to wet an area of the cloth without it dripping. Blot at the stain.
- 2). Move to a clean portion of the cloth as the red ink stain transfers. Wipe or blot in one direction so the red ink stain doesn't spread. Add more isopropyl alcohol to your cloth, if needed, and continue to blot until the red ink stain lifts.
- 3). Wet a clean sponge with cool water. Sponge the site of the red ink stain on your carpet or upholstery to remove the alcohol.
- 4). Press a clean, dry cloth into the carpet or upholstery to wick up as much moisture as possible. Allow the carpet or upholstery to air-dry.
- 1). Spray the red ink-stained area of your clothing with an aerosol hair spray. Use enough hair spray to saturate the red ink stain. Allow the hair spray to sit on the ink stain for one to two minutes.
- 2). Dab at the red ink stain on your clothing with a cotton swab. Wipe in one direction and change to a new cotton swab as the red ink stain lifts. Add more hair spray, if needed, and continue to dab.
- 3). Create a paste of equal parts powdered all-fabric bleach and water. Apply the paste to any remaining red ink stain on your clothing. Rub the fabric together to work the paste into the stain and allow it to sit for 15 minutes.
- 4). Wash your clothing according to the directions on the care label. Check that the red ink stain is fully removed before placing your clothing in the dryer.
