- 1). Go to the truck manufacturer website. Manufacturer websites have the "Build Your Own" or "Build and Price" option through which you can customize any available vehicle.
- 2). Search your pickup truck on the website. Either use the "Search" field on top of the webpage, or find it by choosing the right category. When you choose the specific truck, you will be prompted to enter your ZIP code. When choosing the type of truck, choose the cab type as well, for instance "regular" cab, "double" cab or "crew max."
- 3). Select the particular model of your pick up truck.
- 4). Specify whether you want a 4WD (four wheel drive) or a 2WD truck. Usually, you also get options like "short" bed or "standard bed" for the truck.
- 5). Select your engine specifications, for instance "4.0 liter V6," "4.6 liter V8" or "5.7 liter V8."
- 6). Choose the exterior and interior colors you prefer. You are usually given a number of options and combinations.
- 7). Select whether you want a manual or automatic transmission for your truck.
- 8). Browse optional accessories available for the truck, such as rear bumper step assist, carpeted floor mats, interface system for iPod, paint protection film, bed extender, bed step, bed mat, bed liner, oil cap and oil filter.
- 9). View the summary of your customized truck, and click "Request a Quote" if you want to contact a dealer.
