I know how heartburn can hurt so bad, I have experienced a lot of it in the past.
What's even worse it I would feel bloated for days and medications would not relieve me of my pain.
It can be excruciating at times that my sleep gets disrupted at night.
Those were the dark days of acid reflux episodes for me and I am glad those moments were over.
My doctor prescribed Zantax first and then Ranitidine when I told him the first one had no effect on me at all.
When the second medication did not produce any result, I decided to search online for home remedies for acid reflux that can put an end to my misery.
And these are the home solutions that has work wonders for me.
  1. Baking soda is an ingredient that is always in the cupboard and I use it mostly for baking and cleaning.
    I mix a teaspoon of baking soda with around 6 ounces of water whenever I feel full on my stomach.
    After taking the solution, a belch come out releasing gas and lightening me of the heavy feeling on my stomach.
  2. Apple cider vinegar is my favorite home remedy of all time.
    I used the organic version that I get from my local grocery.
    Whenever I feel a chest pain, (yeah, we call know that is heartburn coming), I mix a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with 6 ounces of water then I add some honey to make it a little sweeter.
    And I am telling you, literally minutes after taking the solution, I can immediately feel myself being alleviated of the pain on my chest.
    No medication had produced the same instant relief on me.
  3. Papaya is the fruit that heals heal my gastrointestinal problem.
    I include it in my breakfast, sometimes I will make it a smoothie.
    The papain in this fruit is actually a digestive enzyme that aids in digestion and soothes the stomach.
    It also helps to dissolve the protein and reduces the carbohydrates and fats.
    Even better, this fruit actually taste great so you are giving yourself a treat while eating healthy.
Apple cider vinegar, papaya and baking soda are the top three home remedies in my list.
Aside from this, I also eat yogurt on a daily basis, particularly the Activia brand.
I also try to stay away from processed and fatty foods.
Maintaining a healthy emotional, mental and physical well-being did the works for me.
