- 1). Click on "Start" and then "My Computer" from your desktop view.
- 2). Click on the "Organize" drop-down menu and then click on "Folder and search options."
- 3). Click on the "View" tab in the folder options window and un-check the box next to "Hide extensions for known file types." Click on "Apply" and then click on "OK."
- 4). Navigate to the MVI file from the "My Computer" window. Right-click on the file name and then click on "rename." Delete ".mvi" from the file name and replace it with ".avi." Click "OK."
- 5). Download, install and run your chosen SMV file conversion software (see Resources).
- 6). Click on the "Browse" icon next to the "Input" text box.
- 7). Navigate to your renamed AVI file and double-click on the file name to add it to your converter.
- 8). Click the "Browse" button next to the "Output" text box and select the version of media player on which you want to play your SMV file.
- 9). Click the 'Browse" button next to "Target folder" and select a destination for your SMV file on your computer.
