How to tell when 24 Hour Recovery Claims are false!

You know, it either is or it isn't!  It is like being kind of pregnant - you can't be kind of pregnant - you either are or you aren't!  And that goes for a true 24 Hour Recovery surgeon too - they either are or they aren't.  So if all the stars are not aligning like we tell you in the book - RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!

Hello,

I am currently trying to decide between two doctors. Both have good reputations and a long history with PS, specifically BA, are Board Certified, etc. But their approaches are fairly different and I am trying to make a choice between the two.

Doc #1 Uses a doctor for anesthesia as opposed to a nurse. He uses practices similar to Dr. Tebbetts and reports clients going to dinner that night. He uses general anesthesia instead of sedation. He spent 45 min talking with me and taking measurements, he did not make a concrete size recommendation other than the measurements which would provide parameters for what my body needs. Then today I met with a nurse for 90 min and we went over sizing based on my measurements and how the implants sit on my body based on chest wall, etc. I am 5'6, 110-115, fit, and wear a 34B bra that I don't fill out. Today the nurse and I arrived at 425cc HP silicone. I am hung up on the number alone, the way it looks and how it fits on my chest I am okay with. But the number freaks me out because it sounds so high.

Doc #2 Uses a nurse for anesthesia and uses IV sedation. He suggests I take a week off of caring for the kids (which is what I am preparing for, no matter what just to be safe). He measured me then made a recommendation without the assistance of any sizers. He recommended 375cc HP, also silicone breast implants. He thinks something bigger than this will overwhelm my frame. But what I learned today is that the base of a 375 will not fill my chest wall.

I think #1 uses the across diameter more while #2 uses top to bottom. Both consider nipple location, etc but these other two areas seemed to be more deciding factors.

Ok, I know this was SO LONG and if you hung in there and read it all I thank you!!! Any feedback welcome...

Thanks again,

Since I am very familiar with Tebbetts' methods and what a 24 Hour Recovery can mean to a patient  - both in the short and long term, I understand why that sounds really good to you.  But I have reservations given how his measurements did not give you a size at the time of consult!  What did all those measurements mean if you and the nurse when in and just picked something off a shelf that you thought might look good????  The medicine and the science, the clinical side of your operative plan just flew out the window!!!  That is a huge RED FLAG to me - if he won't use the measurements to plan your operation, then I would be highly suspect of their ability to truly deliver a better recovery for you too!
