- 1). Vacuum the sisal carpet with a sweeper that has a strong brush-suction. Vacuum at least three times a week or daily if the carpet gets dirt or soil on it frequently.
- 2). Blot any spills, even water, as soon as the spill occurs. Blot the spills with a white towel or un-dyed paper towels, and do not rub the spill as you may work the stain deeper into the fibers. Continue blotting the spill until the liquid is absorbed into the towel.
- 3). Apply one drop of dish detergent to a white damp towel and blot on a stain on the sisal carpet. Continue blotting until the stain is removed. Take a damp white cloth and blot up any remaining soap. Do not saturate the carpet and dry with a hair dryer immediately after removing the stain.
- 4). Scrape hard dirt or grime from the sisal carpet using a spoon or butter knife. Start outside the stain and scrape toward the inside. Vacuum the dirt after it has been dislodged from the carpet fibers.
