At first glance it may seem like all printable labels are pretty much the same.  This is because most people only think about address labels and shipping labels.  The truth is there are a variety of new and exciting types of labels that can make life easier and more fun.  The key is knowing how to find them and what characteristics make them so unique.

 

Eco-labels are the latest offering in the popular lineup of environmentally friendly office products.  Unlike traditional printable labels, they utilize an eco-friendly adhesive which provides the same amount of stickiness as traditional adhesives but without the potentially toxic side effects.  These labels are made from recycled pulp but still offer a high level of brightness and excellent print quality.

 

Glossy labels are a great way to make everything you mail standout.  They are incredibly durable which makes them excellent for barcode printing and similar applications which require a high level of precision.  While they have a noticeably glossy appearance, they also provide a subdued and luxurious impression.  The best part is the best glossy labels take advantage of the eco-friendly key sieve rather than traditional chemical adhesives.  One thing to keep in mind is glossy labels typically can only be used with laser printers because inkjet printers tend to smudge and smear easily.  A similar option is clear labels which provide a subdued translucent look.  It's an interesting way to have a slightly glossy appearance without covering up whatever is being labeled.

 

Correction and cover-up labels are ideal for any office environment.  They are designed to be significantly thicker and less transparent than normal labels.  This makes it easy to cover up any previous labels without worrying about people seeing through it.  They are particularly useful when you need to amend documents and files neatly because they allow you to avoid reprinting everything from scratch.  The best part is they are compatible with both inkjet and laser printers.

 

Most people assume that once a label is on a piece of paper it is there to stay.  This is no longer the case.  Removable labels are designed to easily and quickly peel off of any piece of paper.  At the same time, if they are not peeled off on purpose they have strong adhesive properties.  This type of labeling is ideal for office use so folders, binders, and papers can be altered multiple times without damaging or ripping the object the labels are placed on.

 

Another interesting type of label is photo labels.  These labels utilize photo-quality paper with an adhesive back.  This allows users to print digital photos and quickly turn them into photo stickers.
