Parents with low incomes should not worry about getting a higher education for their children.
They could apply for student loans, which will enable their children go through institutions of higher education.
The financial aid got could either be subsidized or unsubsidized.
This means that the government will pay for the interest attracted by the debt or the debtor could end up paying the principal amount plus any additional amount attracted by this.
Whichever way, this is a great way of ensuring that bright students get through school.
In many cases students in such situations are not made to pay the debt.
At times learners with no employment and as such no source of income might be given a suspension from paying the debt for a period of time.
This will also apply to those who work for less than 30 hour a week.
Another group of people who may be excluded from paying such debts for sometime are those who are in school, whether part-time or full-time.
This is because their education might not leave them enough time to pay for the loan.
Those who are also taking up an activity related to their courses may also be included in this category.
This means that those who are doing their internships or residency will temporarily be excluded from paying their education debt.
This is so because in most cases, those doing internships do not normally earn a decent wage.
People facing financial distress may also be allowed by the court to temporarily stop making student loans payments.
This will only be possible if the debtor has filed a bankruptcy petition.
This however, is a temporally provision.
