How to Fold a Pashmina

104 17

    Fold One

    • 1). Fold a pashmina in half lengthwise several times until the width of the pashmina is approximately 4 inches.

    • 2). Drape the pashmina around your neck with the tails falling on your chest. Make one tail reach your mid chest and make the other tail fall to at least your waist.

    • 3). Pull the longer tail around your neck entirely once until it falls onto your chest again. Make the loop around your neck loose so it falls loosely below your collarbones. Make the tails approximately even with your elbows falling below the loop.

    • 4). Insert one tail through the loop and place your hand under the tail at the point before it enters the loop.

    • 5). Grasp the other tail and insert it through the loop you created with the first tail. Pull the second tail through until the tails are even and you have a loose pashmina tied at your front.

    Fold Two

    • 1). Fold a pashmina in half lengthwise.

    • 2). Drape the pashmina around your neck with the open edge next to your neck. Make one tail long and the other tail only long enough to pull over to the opposite shoulder (approximately 18 to 20 inches long).

    • 3). Pull the short tail across your front to the opposite shoulder and place it slightly over your shoulder so it stays in place.

    • 4). Grasp the long tail, pull it over the other tail and drape it over the opposite shoulder.

    • 5). Grasp the top corner of the pashmina you draped over your shoulder in step 3 and pull it back to the front. Allow the corner to hang over the portion of the pashmina you draped in step four as a loose flap at the center of your chest.

    Fold Three

    • 1). Place the pashmina onto a flat surface so it is straight and flat. Fold one long edge over approximately 4 inches.

    • 2). Place the folded edge of the pashmina against your neck with the fold facing down against your neck. Center the length of the pashmina so the midpoint is at your center front.

    • 3). Drape each end of the pashmina over your shoulders toward your back. Do not cross the ends behind you, but rather allow the right end to cascade down your right side and allow the left end to cascade down your left side.

    • 4). Pull the folded edge of the pashmina that is against your throat away to slouch it slightly. Allow the tails of the pashmina to extend loosely down your back.
