Follicular Cysts And How They Can Be Cured Naturally

The definition of a cyst is a fluid filled sac that can grow anywhere in the body. Women are prone to getting ovarian cysts which, as their name suggests, grow on or in the ovaries. There are many types of ovarian cysts and a very common one is the follicular cyst which quite often shows no symptoms and does eventually disappear of its own accord.

The follicular cyst is formed during a woman's menstrual cycle and occurs when the follicle or sac, containing an egg that is ripe for ovulation, fails to open and release the egg into the uterus. The sac continues to grow into a cyst and it can sometimes fail to disappear of its own accord and instead may cause a lot of pain and discomfort. Fortunately these cysts are rarely cancerous but it is always sensible to watch out for any body changes and to seek medical advice.

Traditionally these follicle cysts would be treated by means of pain killers or even by administering the birth control pill but help is at hand in the form of natural treatments, which not only shrink the cyst but prevent it from coming back again.

Because the root core of follicle cysts lies within the menstrual cycle and problems such as hormone and insulin imbalances play a large part in the formation of ovarian cysts, then it makes sense to address these issues and this can be done very effectively and naturally by means of diet changes and vitamin supplements.

Too much sugar plays a major role in creating an insulin imbalance and so it is imperative to cut back on sugar in the diet by means of taking less sugar in tea or coffee, eating less sugary foods and generally checking on food labels to see how much sugar the products contain. There are much healthier options that can be used in place of sugar and these include artificial sweeteners and honey.

Vitamins and herbs play an important role too in controlling and regulating both hormone and insulin levels and these can be far more effective than the use of pain killers. Herbal teas, such as camomile or mint, are another great source of natural comfort, if you are suffering from pelvic pain or a bloated abdomen, since they contain calming and soothing properties which will reduce the discomfort.

So many women are led to believe that medication or surgery are the only options, but believe me when I tell you that follicular cysts can be treated effectively by natural methods. You no longer have to live with the pain, bloated stomach and feeling of nausea that are all symptoms of an ovarian cyst.
