Give your girlfriend something cute yet special to commemorate the anniversary of your relationship. Whether you've been together for 1 year or 10, show your girl she is as special today as she was when you first met. If a big-budget item isn't viable, make or plan something that does not cost much but is of great value to her. Just knowing you went through the effort will melt her heart. - Create a scrapbook for your girlfriend that will sweep her off her feet and rekindle old memories every time the two of you go through it together. Look for current and old photos, including those from when you started dating, as well as assorted memorabilia such as tickets to a movie, dance, game or vacation, gift wrapping from an old, special birthday or Christmas present to her and other items.
Begin in chronological order when pasting items onto each page. Include a creative caption for each photo or pasted item and add plenty of embellishments such as glitter, stickers, decorative lace, trim and other items she will immediately recognize. Some ideas of personal page decorations include strips of an old dress or scarf you rescued from a donation bag or a cutout of an old shirt of your own to form a decorative background for a picture. - Recreate your first date to show your girlfriend that you remember and treasure the special moments of your relationship. Whether it was a dinner, movie or game date, visit the venue beforehand and reserve the same table or seats you had the first time around. If applicable, arrange a floral bouquet similar to the one you gave her, replacing fresh flowers with silk ones if necessary. Wear clothes similar to what you wore back then or something like it if trends have changed tremendously and you don't have the same style of pants or shirt in your wardrobe.
- Make a special basket or hamper that consists of things your sweetheart likes, such as chocolates, a special perfume, a piece of jewelry, hand and foot lotion, wrapped lingerie, a stuffed toy that says "I Love You" and a book she's been wanting to read. Select items specific to her taste. Wrap the basket in a wide, decorative bow and place it near her nightstand, so it's the first thing she sees in the morning.
You can also create a gift hamper with surprise items that you and your sweetheart can treasure together, such as a picture of the two of you on your first date, a DVD of a movie you watched together on an early date and some popcorn for a repeat movie night that recreates the scene.
