Removing Rusted Aboveground Pool Screws

1). Drain the pool of all the water. Most aboveground pools have a plug that can be unscrewed to empty the water.
2). Spray a generous amount of WD-40 on the rusty screws. Allow the WD-40 to soak in for 30 minutes to an hour. This will enable the lubricant to work its way down the screw hole.
3). Insert the correct screwdriver into the screw head. Depending on the type of screw, it could need a Phillips or flat-head screwdriver.
4). Turn the screw slowly counterclockwise. Press firmly into the screw to prevent the screwdriver from slipping and stripping the screw head.
5). Use vise-grip pliers if the screw head becomes stripped. Lock them tightly onto the screw and rotate counterclockwise. Continue to unscrew until it is removed from the pool.
