How to Determine Dodge Dakota Axle Ratio
- 1). Consult your owner's manual for technical specifics about your make and model type. Often the axle ratio will be listed in the manual under the "Specifications" section.
- 2). Locate the 17-character VIN number. This will most often be listed on the driver's side front door jamb. It can also be on the window (on a sticker) or on the front of the engine block.
- 3). Write down the VIN number. The last 6 characters represent your Dakota's unique serial number.
- 4). Call your local dodge dealership or their main line at 800-423-6343. They will be able to give you the exact gear ratio based off the VIN number you have.
