1.
Take a warm bath.
Soaking in warm water will alleviate some pain and discomfort.
Be sure to wash the tub out thoroughly when done.
The virus can still spread by way of the tub.
2.
Wash the affected area often with soap and water often.
Herpes outbreaks are sores and it is a good idea to keep sores clean.
Be sure to dry the area thoroughly each time.
3.
Use a cotton ball to apply baking soda to the sore to keep them dry and relieve itching.
Be careful not to double dip and contaminate the box of baking soda.

The tannin in the tea will ease flare ups.
The tea bag must be cool, not hot.
Throw away the bag when done.
5.

6.
Apply aloe vera to the sores.
It can be from the actual plant or come from a bottle.
Allow area to dry fully.

8.
Wear cotton or other breathable clothing.
Do not wear silk.
Do not wear tight pants no matter the fabric.
